"What the owner says"

"Finding our house at La Pistoule in 2003 was a true "coup de foudre". Now, 6 years on, and furnished with an attractive mix of French and English antique rugs and furniture it is a delightful place to while away those lazy days of summer in this picturesque part of South West France. The gardens, extensively planted with flower and shrub borders, provide colour throughout the year, offering both sun worshippers, and those seeking some leafy shade, all they need for a perfect holiday.
We hope you enjoy our house as much as we do."

La Pistoule is a traditional quercy stone house with a pigeonnier over the front entrance steps. It nestles in the middle of undulating countryside and has been lovingly renovated. The well planted gardens have a small pond and stream running through with bulrushes, water lilies and gold fish. The main house sleeps six and situated across the courtyard is a delightful renovated barn ideal for two people, with a little front terrace for enjoying a sunny breakfast. The long covered front terrace of the house provides a shady outdoor eating area and has views of the garden and  pool. Montaigu de Quercy (6kms) has a Saturday morning market and Lauzerte and Montaigu have a good range of local shops. Nearest main town: Moissac – 25 minutes.

Accommodation:  The spacious entrance hall opens into a pretty light sitting room that has a central stone fireplace with gas burning stove. The hall has a cloakroom with wc and basin.

At the rear of the hall is the kitchen/breakfast room that is fully fitted and has a gas hob with extractor fan, double oven,  microwave, and general electrical equipment. The sitting room and kitchen lead through to the formal dining room that has stairs to the upper floor.

The upper floor of the house has a second sitting room with a wood burning stove and attractive old evier. There are three double bedrooms on this floor, two of which have king size beds. The principal bedroom has a shower-room with bidet, basin and wc.

The lobby off of the bedroom opens onto the main steps and down into the gardens. The second bedroom has a shower-room with wc and basin. The bathroom is next to the third bedroom and has a bath, wc and basin. All bedrooms are very well furnished.

The barn has two entrances, one into the front lobby and a one from the gardens that leads into the main living room. The main room has a central wood burning stove and is furnished with black leather settees which follows the attractive colour scheme of this room.

To the left is a small kitchen, with a fridge, kettle, and electric hob. The double bedroom has a high ceiling with a window to the front and two attractive “bulls eye” windows set high in the wall. The shower-room has a bidet, wc and basin.

“What a delightful family home!  Two weeks of perfect French sunshine, wine and food. The garden is just beautiful, peaceful and perfect. Thank you for opening up your character home to allow us to find some peace, quiet and above all happiness."

"What a lovely house in a lovely area! The ambiance was terrific – no need to wander far. We will come here again soon – sorry to leave."

'Back again! Just as wonderful as ever. Found some new places to eat – fab!
The time has gone so quickly bus as peaceful as ever."

"'We very much enjoyed staying in your home and appreciate the efforts you have gone to to make it “home from home”.  Over the years we have stayed in many properties across France and yours stands out as the one we would like to return to. Sorry to leave and we may well be back!"
