La Domaine brings two houses (Maison Grange, 26MGR and Maison Quemere 27MQR) together with the common link being their shared garden and swimming pool. This makes flexible accommodation for a large party of up to 16 people, with 8 bedrooms available across the two properties.
Maison Grange sleeps up to 6 people, and Maison Quemere up to 10 people. Both are available for let individually.
Located on the peaceful streets of the historic bastide village of Montaigu de Quercy, the gentle pace of French village life is literally on your doorstep, and this includes a short walk to the local boulangerie for the freshest and most delicious bread and croissants. The village also has a good selection of amenities including several restaurants and bars all within walking distance, tennis courts and a water park with beach area, bars and other activities. All this is complemented by an active programme of events and an excellent and busy market every Saturday.
The houses are both heated, and are available all the year round, with Spring and Autumn long weekends available.
Montaigu de Quercy is at the junction of two larger roads, and thus is an ideal place to be located to explore the wonderful countryside of South West Quercy with plenty to offer all the family.

Maison Grange - Sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms
Entering Maison Grange through the street door, you are on the Upper Floor, and in the spacious Kitchen /Living area which has a high vaulted ceiling.
The Kitchen has a well equipped run of fitted kitchen units includes an electric hob and oven with extractor over, microwave oven and dishwasher. A large Dining table sits up to 8 people comfortably.
The Sitting area has two large comfortable sofas, and satellite Television.
Entrances to the bedrooms on this level are off this room:
A Double bedroom, including an ensuite Shower with basin and wc.
A Twin Bedroom with views over the garden and pool. Opposite the Twin Bedroom is the Bathroom, with basin and wc.
A mezzanine area with a futon is up some steps from the Sitting area, making a pleasant separate quiet place if required.
Stairs down from the Sitting area lead to the Ground Floor, where the first room at the bottom of the stairs is a Utility room with Washing machine, Tumble drier and ironing facilities.
The Ground Floor can become a self contained apartment for two people (and available to let as this in Mid and Low seasons)
Doors open into an open plan arrangment, with comfortable seating on two sofas around the Television, and a Dining table with 4 chairs is opposite this.
A small flight of steps takes you down to the lower floor Kitchen, with a small run of fitted units equipped with Hob and Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher and Fridge/freezer. This Kitchen is conveniently situated by the Outside door onto the Pool Terrace and Garden, making this the ideal place to prepare meals to be eaten outdoors.
Off the Sitting Area is the King Size ensuite Double bedroom, with Shower room, basin and wc. The ensuite has 'Jack and Jill' doors, making it accessible for anyone coming in from the Garden and Pool during the day.
Maison Quemere - Sleeps up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms
Coming in off the street, you enter the Kitchen and Dining area. The Kitchen has well arranged fitted units and incorporates an excellent Gas range with oven/grill, an electric oven, microwave oven, and dishwasher.
A large dining table seating 10 completes the area.
A door leads to the Ground Floor Sitting room which has a selection of sofas and armchairs along with a television with DVD player. Access to the Garden and pool is from this room through glazed doors.
At the bottom of the staircase is a Shower room with basin and wc, ideal for anyone coming in from the Garden or Pool, and the Washing Machine is also in here.
Constructed in 2017, a Conservatory is off the Sitting area. This has good views up the garden, and extends the outdoor season into the cooler weeks of spring and autumn. With sink, work area and fridge it also serves as an outdoor kitchen for the summer.
Upstairs, The First floor comprises 3 Double bedrooms: Firstly a spacious Master with ensuite Bath and Shower room, also with basin & wc. This room has Juliette balconies overlooking the Garden and Pool. The second Double bedroom also has an en-suite shower room. There is a separate wc on the landing.
Another flight of stairs takes you to the Second floor which is built into the original loft space, and has sloping ceilings, although still good head height.
At the top of the stairs is a Sitting room, with a futon sofa, television and a workstation. There are exposed roof timbers and Velux windows.
Off this room is a Shower room with basin and wc.
The two Bedrooms on this floor are a double room and a twin bedroom with chairs and cupboards, windows to the street side, and Velux windows providing plenty of light.

The door from the Ground level Kitchen of Maison Grange opens onto the Pool terrace. Beside this is a raised sun terrace area, which also gets some shade from nearby trees. A side gate onto the street is beside this sun terrace.
Measuring 8 x 4m, the Swimming Pool is protected by an alarm, and there are Roman steps for ease of access Water purity is maintained by salt.
The long narrow garden is mainly grassed, with flowers and shrubs planted which make the garden a very attractive feature.
A small paved path leads to Maison Quemere (Blue shutters), where there is a roofed patio area.
A Charcoal barbeque is available for outdoor cooking.
Montaigu de Quercy is a lively village, with all the amenities required, including a supermarket and a number of restaurants. There is also an excellent boulangerie within walking distance. Two of the larger regional roads meet at the village, so travel to other towns and villages is easy and direct to start with. There is a Tourist Information office just off the roundabout where the two roads meet.
As a medieval bastide settlement, at the top of the hill there is a fortified medieval village, with streets of timbered houses leading to a square, and tremendous views from the fortifications across the glorious countryside beyond. Other similar villages in the area are Penne d'Agenais, Tournon d'Agenais and Lauzerte, which is listed in the 'Plus Beaux Villages de France'
Other history abounds, with Roman activity at Cahors and Villeneuve sur Lot, and as you travel the area you will be sure to marvel at the landscapes that unfold, with usually a bastide village or a large chateau in view.
Montaigu de Quercy has its own water park, based on a lake just outside the village where there is a large sandy beach area with lifeguard patrolled (in season) safe swimming, boat and pedalo hire, zip wires across the lake, bars and a restaurant.
The town is in the centre of an area of food production with a range of products to be seen as you travel around: Soft Fruit, sunflowers, nuts and vegetables will be seen growing along with vineyards and more traditional farm crops. Many of these, both raw and prepared, and other artisan products are available at the weekly markets held in most large villages and towns every week: Montaigu de Quercy has its market on a Saturday, as does Lauzerte. Tournon d'Agenais is on Friday evening, and Penne d'Agenais on a Sunday (at Port Penne, by the bridge over the river) A fuller list of markets is found under The Area at the top of this page.
There are several good restaurants in and around Montaigu de Quercy, and generally offer good food at excellent prices. Several are within walking distance of Domane de Boucherie, so pleasant evenings can be enjoyed without having to nominate a driver.

The area has several wineries, mainly to the north towards the River Lot, part of the Cahors AOC, and many wineries are open for tastings and direct sales: Please see the Lot Valley tourist information site link on the Links page for a full list.
