Nals is an extremely popular property for adults and families alike: It offers a private peaceful situation with outstanding landscape views from the pool terrace.
The style and furnishings of the interior are very French inclined, and with many traditional features of the house retained when the property was renovated, the house is a blend of old and new with much character.
With kitchens on both floors, and a double bedroom on the lower floor, Nals is especially suitable for a 4+2 party.
Conveniently situated for exploring the glorious countryside in the area, Nals is an excellent choice for your French holiday this year.
Nals is part way along a no through country lane, and there is one off road parking space by the side gate: Another car can be parked inside the high gates to the garden if required.
The enclosed yard outside the house has a very pleasant array of flowers and shrubs, and some mature trees. This gives Nals a bright and welcoming homely air.
Entering the house by the main door at the top of the steps, you enter a pleasant open square hall with a fireplace that serves as a second Sitting room. The large fireplace has a wood burner installed, and there are casual chairs here. All the rooms on this floor lead off this Hall.
There are two bedrooms with tasteful continental style furniture and gentle natural light.

The fourth room is a large open plan Kitchen / Dining/ Sitting room. The modern Kitchen has a good U shaped run of fitted units, well equipped with a cooker with extractor over, microwave and dishwasher. The Dining table sits between the Kitchen and Sitting areas.
The Sitting area has two large sofas and an armchair grouped around a woodburner, and the television is in the corner of the room.
Leading down from the Sitting room, narrow stairs lead take guests to the Lower Floor which can be used as separate accommodation for two people if required: You arrive in a sitting area with a small sofa and woodburning stove set into a fireplace. and this leads through to the Double bedroom.
Kitchen facilities are through a separate door. The Kitchen has a gas cooker with oven/grill, microwave and fridge/freezer, and also has a traditional bread oven left as a feature.
A compact bathroom beyond includes a shower, basin and wc, which with nearby access to the Pool terrace can be used by those coming in from outside.
A stable door in the Kitchen opens to a vine covered sheltered dining area by the swimming pool, and can be used as access to the house as required.
The downstairs kitchen naturally serves as a kitchen for a family outdoors around the pool.
A separate Laundry room with a washing machine will be found in a lower level room accessed from a door beside the steps up to the front door.
Besides the three wood burning stoves mentioned, there are also electric radiators throughout the house should heating be needed.
Nals has two outdoor terraces for guests to enjoy: Firstly an open area just at the top of the steps outside the front door: Elevated, yet private, it has a view over the pool and away to the valley beyond. Being East facing, it is ideal for a sunny start to the day. The second is under the vine covered 'au vent' by the entrance to the lower level which is right by the pool space, and large enough for all occupants to sit quietly in the shade during the heat of the day.
Delightful plants and shrubs are spread around the grounds of Nals, and offer guests a bright environment in which to relax.
There is a Barn opposite the house, with another 'au vent' area containing a table tennis table, pool table and dart board. Two Adult sized bicycles are available for Guests and these are normally stored in the Laundry room area.
Sunloungers and other poolside furniture are proviced for use around the Swimming pool, which measures 10 x 5m, and has Roman Steps for ease of access: Water purity is maintained by chlorine.
Viewing to the south over the wall, guests are treated to an outstanding panoramic view.....

Nals sits in quiet countryside, with roads and paths beckoning to be explored on foot or by bicycle. The quiet lane on which the house is situated in particular makes a peaceful evening walk.
With the former Roman road (now the D656) from Tournon d'Agenais to Agen a short distance away, access to other parts of the area is reasonably direct and easy: St Amans du Pech on this road has some shops which would be adequate for daily needs.
Crossing the D656 from Nals you are equidistant from Roquecor which has a lively café / bar and a weekly market and also from the very picturesque village of Beauville. For more comprehensive shopping there are supermarkets at St Sylvestre sur Lot (10km) or Montaigu de Quercy (12 km)
The area on the other side of the D656 from Nals is one of great beauty, with frequent slopes and valleys offering gorgeous rural views as you travel, and quiet villages dotted along the roads. There are also a number of medieval hilltop bastide villages in the area, each with their own character: The nearest ones to Nals are Tournon d'Agenais, Penne d'Agenais and Montaigu de Quercy. Almost equidistant from Nals there are two of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' - Pujols, just south of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Lauzerte, a little further south from Montaigu de Quercy. Both have many medieval features from the 13th and 14th centuries.

The area is a major producer of agricultural and horticultural produce, and as you travel around you will see vineyards, orchards, nut groves and fields of vegetables alongside more traditional crops in the fields. There are many wineries offering tastings and direct purchases, some of which, including the English run Domaine du Garinet, are listed in the Links above, and more general information in 'The Area' as well.
Much of the produce, along with other foods and drinks, can be purchased at weekly markets held in most large villages and towns throughout the area: Roquecor has its market on a Sunday, and Montaigu de Quercy on a Saturday. Other markets are listed under The Area above.
The River Lot offers much scenic appeal, and also canoeing, kayaking, boating and other water based activities wherever road and river meet, the nearest point to Nals being Port Penne near Penne d'Agenais. For a different water based experience, Montaigu de Quercy has a water park, based around a large lake, with a large sandy beach area, lifeguard patrolled (in season) swimming, pedalo and boat hire, as well as restaurants and bars.

A Security Deposit is also payable, and this is usually refunded (less any deductions) within one week of the end of your stay.
