Les Ferrièrres offers couples a peaceful stay in the country in compact yet complete accommodation approximately 7km/4.5 miles from Tournon d'Agenais. The property, including around an acre of landscaped garden, is situated beside a very quiet country lane and distant from other properties. Views from here are over unspoilt farmland and woodland, and the north east facing main terrace makes an outdoor breakfast one to remember.
The self contained apartment is an annexe to the Owner's substantial stone farmhouse but with entrances away from the Owner's part of the building: There is ample off road parking. The apartment has been well modernised, and is ideal for a couple seeking either to relax and enjoy the French countryside around or to explore the delights of the Quercy countryside.
Ideal for a couple, a third person can be accommodated at Les Ferrieres using the sofa bed in the lounge area.

'We bought the house with the apartment in 2016 and offer this apartment to share the peace of the countryside with guests. The terrace on the north and east sides give shade or sun as guests require through the day. The view from the terrace and living area is across fields and woodland with a large chateau (Biron) just visible on the horizon. There are Cahors wine producers within walking distance, and many more just a short drive away. The area is generally level, and ideal for cyclists and walkers with peaceful country roads and signed footpaths'

With east facing French doors opening onto the terrace overlooking the landscaped garden, the morning sun helps make the start to the day very pleasant in this room.
The shower room opens off the bedroom, and also has a basin and wc.

Les Ferrièrres has two adjacent terraces: The large terrace by the main entrance has a north and east aspect with superb views over fields and woodlands, and being at the opposite end of the house to the Owner's entrance is very private. The smaller terrace with an easterly aspect which the bedroom opens onto, has views across the landscaped garden. This gives the opportunity for sun or shade as you wish. A charcoal barbecue is provided for al fresco dining
The garden around Les Ferrières amounts to about 0.5ha / 1 acre, and is well managed with a selection of shrubs and trees throughout.
The 10x 5m pool is in the garden, and is protected by an alarm system: There is also a poolside shower, sun loungers and shades.
The countryside around Les Ferrièrres is gently undulating with very quiet roads, and makes excellent walking and cycling country.
The view from Les Ferrièrres will change as the months pass according to the crops in the neighbouring field as can be seen from the images. The impressive outline of Chateau Biron can usually be seen some 25km away on the skyline.

The nearest town for day to day shopping is Tournon d'Agenais (7km, 4.5 miles), one of the medieval hilltop bastide villages of the area which is an attraction in itself.
There is a large Leclerc hypermarket at Fumel, approx 15km/ 11 miles to the north, or a smaller supermarket at Montaigu de Quercy approx 13km / 8 miles to the south.
A feature of the area generally are the village markets. and the current market days are listed on the general area information: There is no finer day than to go to the market early, buy food and then enjoy a fine al fresco meal on the terrace. In season there are also evening 'Marchés Gourmands' in several local villages where full meals are available to eat picnic style while entertainment continues nearby.
This is also wine country, and many local wineries are open for tasting and direct sales. Please see the Links page for the names of a few recommended wineries.
There are many historic villages in the area, with Lauzerte and Pujols being listed among 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France': Many occupy historic hilltop sites with fantastic views from the end of streets lined with historic timbered buildings: Each has its own character to immerse yourself into.
The whole area is rich in natural beauty, history and other attractions, many of which will be detailed in the general area information on this site.
The River Lot is not far away and provides great scenery and recreation with boat hire, canoe and kayak expeditions, fishing and more, quite apart from some amazing views fron its sweeping bends.
