The principal cities are Toulouse and Bordeaux. 
Between these two are major towns including:
Moissac: On the banks of the Tarn river this bustling town with lively weekend markets, is famous for its Romanesque Abbey and Cloisters.
Fumel: Named after Françoise de Fumel, once captain of the kings guard and Catherine de Medici's ambassador to Constantinople, it has a good range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a cinema.
Villeneuve-sur-Lot: A powerful bastide on the banks of the Lot river. Founded in 1264 it has preserved a large quantity of small streets and half-timbered buildings. Close by is a superb 18 hole golf course.
Roquecor: A sleepy laid back hilltop village with an excellent bar/restaurant and Sunday morning market.
Montaigu-de-Quercy: Was the site of a 12c castle built by Raymond V of Toulouse. Now this atmospheric lively village has a range of local shops a traditional Saturday French market and a large leisure lake.
Penne d'Agenais: Penn means hill crest in Celtic and this lovely restored 'arty ' village once had a castle built by Richard Coeur de Lion and has an interesting basilica, lovely views over the Lot river, restaurants and many artisans.

Grand Pre is tucked away in a quiet valley in this beautiful area of south west France and is surrounded by lush undulating countryside. The area is called ‘Quercy Blanc’ from ‘quercus’ the Latin for an oak and ‘blanc’ from the white stone from which the houses are built. It is an area for space and tranquillity. The little village of Roquecor (1km) has local shops, a good restaurant and bar, a busy Sunday morning market, and summer fetes. Montaigu and Montcuq are busy villages with weekend markets. Nearest main town: Agen & Villeneuve-sur-Lot – 30 minutes
 

Grand Pre has three cottages that are situated around a central courtyard. Two of them are adjacent and have been beautifully converted as part of the huge Quercy barn. They each have their own private dining terraces where guests can relax, and BBQ. The little detached cottage has a private dining terrace with BBQ at the rear where guests have views up to ancient village of Roquecor. The large games barn is well stocked with table tennis, bikes, and play equipment and it is open to the courtyard.

La Lavande (ref 76) and Le Tournesol (ref 77) – Both sleep 4/5 Accommodation: Both of the barn cottages have spacious light living and dining rooms with tv/dvd/cd/cassette players and wood burning stoves. The kitchens are well equipped with an oven, gas hob and refrigerator. Both cottages have a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. An extra bed can be provided for the twin bedrooms or guests can use the convertible settees in the sitting room. The spacious shower-rooms have a basin and wc.

Cottage (ref 78) – Sleeps 6 - Accommodation: The detached stone cottage has a stylishly furnished living/dining room with tv/dvd/cd/cassette player and a wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, gas hob and a refrigerator. The spacious shower-room has a wc and basin. On the upper floor there are two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom.
