Lauzerte
: Nicknamed the Toledo of Quercy, its interesting square, which looks as if it's been turned up like a page of a book, sits in the centre of this lovely bastide village that has a choice of restaurants and shops.
Montaigu-de-Quercy
: Was the site of a 12c castle built by Raymond V of Toulouse. Now this atmospheric lively village has a range of local shops a typical French market each Saturday and a large leisure lake.

"Fompetiere is a traditional French farm house nestled in 12 hectares of land completely private, with a lovely landscaped garden in a beautiful rural setting, it has been completely restored and redecorated to provide all the modern conveniences and comforts. It is within 10 minutes walk of the local village of Montaigu de Quercy which has restaurants, bars and shops and also a Saturday market and tourist office."

 

Fompetiere is a substantial renovated stone Quercy house that is very well furnished and equipped.  It is within walking distance of the village of Montaigu de Quercy, which has a good range of local shops, restaurants and leisure lake.  Situated in an elevated position it has far-reaching views, and the extensive grounds give it peace and privacy. The games room has table-tennis and a pool table. Nearest main towns: Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

Accommodation:  The main entrance opens into the charming sitting room with oak beams and stone walls, telephone, tv and stereo.  The wooden floors and staircase give a warm welcoming ambience.  To the right is the dining room with long table and chairs and a large open stone fireplace.

The excellent kitchen is light and fully equipped and opens onto an outside dining terrace.  It has a fridge-freezer, a gas hob and an electric oven.  At the rear of the kitchen is the utility/shower room with wc, basin an range of storage cupboards. 

The first floor has four bedrooms, all are tastefully decorated and have lots of storage.  Main double bedroom with sleigh bed.  Twin bedroom.  The main shower-room has a basin and wc and heated towel rail.  The second twin bedroom leads into a pretty double bedroom that has an en-suite shower with basin, wc and heated towel rail.

The upper floor was the original attic and has beamed ceilings and provides a very large double bedroom that has TV/video and there is an additional double futon.  Bathroom with wc, basin and heated towel rail. 

The 12x6m paved pool has roman steps and a pool shower.  There is an additional dining terrace at the back of the house which enables guests to find shade/sun at all times of the day.  The well-planted gardens and grounds climb up behind the house into the woodlands where guests can explore.
