Set amidst rolling farmlands in summer ablaze with sunflowers or lush with maize and tobacco, Bourdiel is a haven of peace and tranquility. Bourdiel is a restored hill farm of the Napoleonic era situated 2km from the village of Engayrac. Set in rolling farmlands and valleys with marvelous views across the surrounding countryside, both houses have been tastefully and comfortably restored to offer guests an ideal ambience to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. The grounds extend to over 5 acres. Nearest main Town: Agen - 20 minutes drive
Accommodation: La Ferme is a typical
Quercy stone built farmhouse that has been renovated to provide luxury
accommodation. The living room has a high beamed ceiling with central
stone fireplace. At one end is a dining area and oak fitted kitchen with
fridge/freezer, microwave, gas cooker and dishwasher. At the other, a
spacious sitting area with patio doors leading to a covered terrace with
BBQ, looking westward over the swimming pool and valley.
A romantic master bedroom with four poster bed has patio doors to both front and side terraces and en-suite shower and toilet. There is a second double bedroom also with en-suite shower and toilet, and door to patio. The mezzanine has two single beds, toilet with washbasin and a small sitting area (restricted headroom in part). Satellite TV.
Accommodation: Le Cottage du Puits, dated 1833, is a restored stone built cottage that has a large covered terrace with BBQ, overlooking the southern slopes of the valley, and to the Chapelle de St Julien on top of the hill. The beamed living room has a comfortable sitting area with wood burner and fitted oak kitchen/dining area with gas hob, electric oven, microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A hallway leads to the three bedrooms.
The principal double bedroom has a door onto to a small sunny patio. A family room has a double bed and pine stairs leading to a cosy mezzanine with two single beds (restricted headroom in part). There is a third twin bedroom. The bathroom is well fitted with corner bath, double sink vanity unit, WC and shower. There is a further separate toilet with hand basin. Satellite TV
The pool (10 x 6m) is situated on a lower terrace, secluded, yet with superb panoramas over the valley. Plenty of pool loungers and cushions are available. A poolside shower is also provided. There is a small fish pond below the pool. Facilities (for both properties) include ample car parking, Petanque area, laundry, bicycles and swings. Services offered include reflexology, babysitting and pre-arrival packs.
