"What the owner says"

"We fell in love with Tournon d'Agenais in 1997 and made friends in the area.
In 1999 we saw an 18th Century barn for sale in the Sunday Times and bought it unseen. After an extensive building conversion we moved in in 2001 and love living here. We hope our guests enjoy it as much as we and our family do."

La Grange de Bladanel is a delightful country home that has been stylishly restored from a Quercy barn. The location and quality offer guests every comfort. The grounds and gardens are attractively planted and have superb views across the surrounding countryside. Entrance to the property is through the pretty walled courtyard that has a central fountain and is planted in a Mediterranean style. It has wonderful views of the 13c Royal bastide village of Tournon d'Agenais, that has three restaurants, a small range of shops and a leisure lake. Nearest main town: Villeneuve-sur-Lot - 20 minutes

Accommodation: The hallway leads through to the lovely light sitting room that has high beamed ceilings, stone walls and is very well furnished. The sitting area has a stone fireplace with a gas burning stove for autumn evenings and doors that open onto the poolside terrace. Stairs from the sitting area lead up to the mezzanine floor that has twin beds and is screened from the sitting room. The sitting room retains the original cow byres that have been cleverly renovated to provide a division between the kitchen and dining room and lots of storage.

The dining room opens onto the pool terrace and the kitchen has doors to the side dining terrace. The kitchen is very well equipped with hand made units providing lots of storage. It has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and gas hob. The central unit has a further range of cupboards and wash basin.

The bedrooms are situated off the hallway. There are two twin bedrooms, one having large twin beds that are joined, but can be separated if required. The shower-room has a shower-room with wc and basin. The master bedroom, opening onto the rear terrace, has a four poster bed, en-suite bathroom with
basin and a separate en-suite shower-room with wc and bidet.

In the courtyard there is a little converted barn that has a washing machine and extra fridge/freezer. The 10x5m pool has roman steps and a decked terrace. At the rear of the terrace, steps lead up to a sheltered dining terrace, that is covered with an arbour.
